This role can be performed based in Malta, offering you the option to work hybrid/remotely.   

A taste of what you’ll do

The Development Manager works hand in hand with the Head of Development leading a number of teams of software engineers, designing, developing and testing different areas of the state-of-the-art gaming platform. You’d be responsible for the overall development lifecycle of our platforms and solutions, delivering to our customers a cutting-edge experience with unique features in our sector. Additionally, the role requires hiring, developing, and helping engineers and team leads to meet and exceed their career goals.

• Game Development
  > Develop, refactor, and polish video slot games in TypeScript/PIXI.js.
  > Ensure fast load times, responsive layouts, and high-quality animations.
• Cross-Team Collaboration
  > Work with Game Design and Production to iterate on features and UX.
  > Partner with Platform Engineering to integrate shared systems like jackpots, live data feeds, and promotional tools.
• Performance & Quality
  > Optimize rendering, memory, and assets for smooth performance across desktop and mobile.
  > Collaborate with QA to debug and release stable, bug-free builds.
• Compliance & Feature Updates
  > Implement and maintain features aligned with multi-jurisdiction regulations, such as responsible gaming messages and game history tools.
• Leadership & Mentoring (for senior-level applicants)
  > Lead by example through code reviews and best practices.
  > Mentor junior developers and help shape team standards.
• Tools & Processes
  > Contribute to improving build, localization, and deployment tooling.
  > Explore AI-powered workflows for test automation, asset management, or code generation.
  > Operate within Jira and Confluence for agile task tracking and documentation.

Who and what we are after?

• 5+ years of experience in JavaScript/TypeScript game development
• Strong portfolio of web-based slot or casino titles
• Deep knowledge of PIXI.js or similar WebGL/canvas frameworks
• Understanding of iGaming development cycles and regulatory requirements
• Familiarity with Spine or equivalent animation tools
• Experience integrating APIs via HTTP/WebSocket
• Expertise in mobile performance profiling and debugging
• Proficiency with Git, Jira, Confluence, and CI/CD workflows
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Experience mentoring or leading teams (if applying for senior level)
